Shopping

My Mom and I headed out shopping this morning to exchange some things I bought at an outlet mall a little ways northwest of here.  It’s always nice to get out of town even on a short adventure, because staying in town all the time makes me feel claustrophobic in a weird way.  So it was good to hit the road this morning.

We had such a good shopping journey!  I was able to exchange my items, and I found a few other items on great sales to pretty much round out what I needed for now.  I had just finished saying that the money I set aside for clothes (from a freelance gig I did this summer) was tapped out when we walked into the Bass outlet.  I already have an adequate supply of decent shoes, so I didn’t think I’d be in trouble there, but unbeknownst to me, Bass has clothes.  Nice clothes.  Clothes that are like what I want to wear when I grow up!  *grins*  I drooled over many things and was going to walk out of there with just some nice socks, but I decided to try on this gorgeous navy blue corduroy jacket before we left.  And I put it on, and this jacket fit me like it was made for me — it is fitted at all the right place, the shoulder seams were exactly right, the sleeves are thin and long, just like my arms.  The jacket looked better on me than almost anything I have ever put on in my entire life.  And I tried to talk myself out of it, and I tried to get my Mom to talk me out of it (she would have no part of that!).  And I took the jacket off.  And then I put it back on.  I took it off, and I put it back on.  And it kept looking perfect!  Darn jacket!

So, I got myself some really nice socks and a gorgeous navy blue corduroy jacket.

I’m a sucker for not spending money on clothes, but I am glad you got that jacket. You’ve worked hard and it’s something you’ll really be able to use for your job. Good for you!
